Ingredients
Scale
Steak
2 ribeye steaks (about 8 oz each)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Creamy Garlic Sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Prepare the steaks: Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 20 minutes. Pat them dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Sear the steaks: Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Place the steaks in the pan and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, covered loosely with foil.
Make the garlic sauce: Reduce the heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in the heavy cream and stir continuously, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve: Drizzle the creamy garlic sauce over the rested steaks and serve immediately, enjoying the perfect combination of juicy meat and rich flavor.
Notes
Use a cast iron skillet for best searing results.
Letting the steak rest is important to retain juices.
Adjust garlic quantity according to preference.
Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
