Ingredients

Scale

Meat & Cheese

  • ½ pound Hatfield Thick-Cut Hardwood Smoked Bacon
  • 1 3-pound Hatfield Classic Boneless Ham
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 10-ounce block yellow cheddar cheese, shredded (approximately 3 cups)

Dairy & Condiments

  • 1 8-ounce container sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup scallions, minced small, tops and bottoms (34 scallions)
  • Dash of your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Spices & Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Bread & Butter

  • dozen soft pull-apart slider rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare it for baking the bacon and sliders later.
  2. Bake Bacon: Lay out the ½ pound of thick-cut hardwood smoked bacon on a parchment-lined sheet tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels, then cool and chop into small pieces. Set aside.
  3. Slice Ham: Using a very sharp slicing knife, thinly slice the entire 3-pound boneless ham. Set the slices aside for assembling the sliders.
  4. Prepare Cheese Spread: In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded yellow cheddar cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, minced scallions, a dash of hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix well to create a creamy, flavorful spread.
  5. Add Bacon to Spread: Fold the chopped, cooked bacon pieces into the cheese mixture until evenly incorporated.
  6. Slice Rolls: Carefully slice each of the 18 soft pull-apart slider rolls in half horizontally.
  7. Assemble Sliders: Spread the prepared cheese and bacon mixture evenly over both the tops and bottoms of all the rolls. Then, layer the thin slices of ham evenly across the bottom halves of the rolls, folding larger slices if needed to fit the roll size. Top with the roll tops.
  8. Arrange in Baking Pan: Place each fully assembled slider tightly packed into a 9×13-inch baking pan or a similarly sized pan to keep them snug during baking.
  9. Butter and Cover: Brush the melted butter over the tops of the sliders to add richness and encourage browning. Cover the entire pan with parchment paper and aluminum foil to retain moisture.
  10. Bake Covered: Bake the sliders in the oven, covered, for 10 minutes to heat through and meld flavors.
  11. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and parchment cover and continue baking uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until the tops are slightly golden and bubbly.
  12. Serve Immediately: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute the Hatfield ham and bacon with similar quality smoked ham and thick-cut bacon if unavailable.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce according to your spice preference.
  • For ease, pre-shredded cheddar cheese can be used instead of shredding a block yourself.
  • Use parchment paper under bacon to help with easy cleanup and prevent sticking.
  • Sliders are best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated and reheated covered in a low oven to retain moisture.
