Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients required on box: usually 2 large eggs, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup water)

Cheesecake Layer

  • 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Hot Fudge Topping

  • 1 cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Sundae Toppings

  • Whipped cream (to taste)
  • Chopped nuts (such as peanuts or walnuts, to taste)
  • Maraschino cherries (to taste)
  • Chocolate shavings (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Base: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan. Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions, typically combining the mix with eggs, oil, and water. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Let the brownie cool completely in the pan.
  2. Make the Cheesecake Layer: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth using an electric mixer. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is blended thoroughly before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract. Pour this cheesecake batter evenly over the cooled brownie base.
  3. Bake the Cheesecake: Lower oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). Bake the assembled cheesecake for 45-50 minutes until the center is just set and the edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven and allow it to cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to fully set.
  4. Top with Hot Fudge and Sundae Toppings: Once chilled, carefully remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and transfer to a serving plate. Spread 1 cup of hot fudge sauce evenly over the top. Garnish with whipped cream, chopped nuts, maraschino cherries, and optionally chocolate shavings to your preference.
  5. Serve: Slice the cheesecake into pieces and serve chilled. Enjoy the rich combination of chewy brownie, creamy cheesecake, and luscious sundae toppings in every decadent bite.

Notes

  • Use a toothpick to test doneness of the brownie layer to avoid under- or over-baking.
  • Allow the cheesecake to chill thoroughly for the best texture and flavor.
  • Feel free to substitute nuts with your favorite toppings or omit for allergies.
  • Hot fudge sauce can be homemade with chocolate and cream or purchased pre-made for convenience.
  • Use a springform pan to easily remove the cheesecake without damaging the layers.
