Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted

Filling and Toppings

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows (divided)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup broken graham cracker pieces
  • 2 (1.55 oz each) chocolate bars, broken into pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal and cleanup.
  2. Make the Crust: In a small bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter thoroughly. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to create the crust layer.
  3. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the graham cracker crust, spreading it gently with a spatula to cover the entire surface.
  4. Layer Marshmallows, Chocolate Chips, and Crackers: Sprinkle half of the mini marshmallows, all of the semi-sweet chocolate chips, and broken graham cracker pieces evenly over the condensed milk layer.
  5. Bake First Stage: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, allowing the ingredients to meld and the chocolate chips to soften.
  6. Top with Remaining Marshmallows and Bake: Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the remaining mini marshmallows over the top. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until the marshmallows are golden brown and the edges of the bars are starting to turn golden.
  7. Add Chocolate Bar Pieces and Cool: Remove the bars from the oven and immediately sprinkle the broken chocolate bar pieces on top to melt slightly. Place the dish on a cooling rack and allow the bars to cool at least 15 minutes before cutting.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: For best results, allow the bars to cool completely to set. Cut into squares and enjoy the gooey, melty, layered s’mores bars.

Notes

  • Press the crust mixture firmly into the pan to ensure it holds together well.
  • Use parchment paper for easier removal of bars from the pan.
  • You can substitute any chocolate bars you like for variety, such as milk chocolate or a nutty chocolate bar.
  • These bars are best served after fully cooling to ensure they set properly but are still delightfully gooey.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate to extend shelf life.
